ARCHIVES: Entry #2 - October 2004
Hey there! Thanks for popping by! As you can see, I've spiffed things up a bit. Got the press kit up (it was a bitch to do, so please admire it... thanks - wink! :D) and added the links page, finally. I want to share with you all of the wonderful people and performers that I meet in the industry. So I hope you have fun exploring their doings, and listening to some great music.
I've started a 'blog' for news. It's easier than posting here all the time. I'm going to put more creative stuff (poetry and stuff - music will always be found here) there too, so check it out -- it's all pretty and everything... http://www.carolinemusic.blogspot.com - I'd still like to know that you're out there, so just pop me a line to say hi, then I'll know at least *someone* reads this stuff. :D That was 'pop' not 'poop', by the way. :D
Well, will I *ever* do any shows? Actually, I might be hosting shows come November, when I actually intend to get out of the house. I've been semi-holed up here all summer working on secret projects... ooooh! Amongst other things, I've actually been doing some home-recording. It really sucks and makes what I did sound way worse than just playing it did. See what a gal with free reign on reverb and eq can do! Anyway, my first go was just great and it's been all down hill since. :D But I have about 1000 tapes (yeah, you know that 'fee' that SOCAN is charging, *I'm* paying it! But that's ok... at least it is getting recycled!) and I worry that they're all going to degrade. So I want to find an alternate method of getting my musical musings down. Anyway, if I can get it to sound half decent, I'll post some of my material. It *is* totally cool to hear it done with all the harmonies that I want. Yum! :D
So Ember Swift is coming to town in a couple of weeks - she rocks my world - her and Lyndell are sublime! They are playing at the Central Bar & Grill here in town on October 22nd at 9:30pm - so if you are in the vicinity, you'll know where I'll be. :D
What else is new? Still trying to find a way to help indie artists everywhere... my little mission. Don't worry, when I find a way, I will share it with you. And as for shows in the future, I *am* going to be coming across Canada late this Spring, more details to come! I also have some other nifty things planned, so do check back (ooh, I am so mysterious!). As for now, I wish you well and I'll be writing soon. Check the bloggity blog! :D - HUG!
