Hey there, everyone! Another month is flashing by - I'm so busy! Anyway, looks like we'll be going to the UK for a 10-12 date tour next year - very exciting! We've got a good business team coming together and lots of great stuff happening all over the place!
I'm finally getting some new photos done this month. Lots of photos - so hopefully, I'll get some good ones. Sometimes I'm not so photogenic - it's mostly when I grin - that kind of takes up the whole picture. Oh yeah, it sounds nice - but when I grin you get to see the back of my gums! haha :D Robyn Swank is going to swankify me - she's cooler than cool. So I'll let you know how that goes.
Anyway, still auditioning people for the band. I had a bit of an upset early this month - but it's good too -- anyway, Howard, the amazing, wonderful bass player (and a lovely person to boot, I might add) was snapped up by a label artist, moved to Vancouver (in a matter of days of finding out) - and is going on tour for two years at the end of the month - or some such thing. I suppose it was so traumatic, I missed out on some of the details! The point is that I won't get to see Howard any more - and that made me real sad. Well, and he was a great part of the band too. Sigh! Anyway, have lots of other good people coming out - so we'll see how it goes.
Ok.. so back to thinking positive thoughts - the tour is coming along awesomely well - and even better, I might actually get to help some other indie artists when I go out to Toronto. We're going to get a table at NXNE and promote a bunch of indie bands for the 3 days. I'm going to see about taking people from Victoria/Region's stuff out there, if there's any interest - seeing as it's pretty far and costly for them to go. It should be lots of fun and pressworthy too - so I hope it will help all of us garner more press. Myself, I have no press because I suck at promoting myself. It's so much easier for me to promote everyone else I love, you know? But that's what being an entrepreneur is about - recognizing your weaknesses and finding the best people to make your team strong. That's why I have a new and wonderful marketing and PR person to help me and basically kick my ass. :D Actually, I have been doing better with the promotion in the last number of months. No one else is going to do this for me, make this happen - just me - so I have to be really pro-active. Especially since I'm an indie artist.
