DECEMBER/JANUARY NEWS
Hey folks! It's been a while, though it seems like time has just sped by so fast! I am feeling much better these days and the voice has come back, so that is good.
I hope you had a nice holiday - and best wishes to you all for the New Year!
I had a great holiday, and lots of great things have been happening to me, music wise - first off, got the systems all set up for home recording - so that is good. I have been recording all of my stuff into an old tape player, and my digital recording was live to air into the computer, so it picked up all the computer hum. Yes, low tech. Sigh! But now I've got the set up -- AND I've got an old and wonderful friend to help me with it - so that's going to help with getting some of this material recorded so you can actually hear something new.
I have to say, as a songwriter, it is very frustrating to not have your recordings keep up with your songwriting - I have this backlog, and I'm at a new place - just emotionally, artistically - so it can suck at times to just have old things to show people. Not that I didn't do my very best on them, but I've got some things now that speak more from my heart now - and I'd like to share them with others. So hopefully now, that can happen. :D
Anyway, I also put it out to the universe to see if people who actually liked my music would show up to play it and make it better - ie. be a band. And over the past month, it seems to really be coming together. I've found that some people haven't heard my music and must think I do punk -haha - though that would be cool and I'd love to be the next Siouxie Sioux, it will be good to have people who actually know and like my style of music to play with.
Also, busy planning the great big tour across Canada. Looks like it will be three of us, the delightful Shauna Major and perhaps another, yet to be confirmed personage of great talent and beauty. :D I am driving across the country regardless, and it would be nice to see people - so I'm perfectly willing to play anywhere - so if you want us to come by your house and we're not doing anything else, we'll come over and make you pee your pants laughing AND maybe play some nice sounding tunes. :D Let me know.
I feel incredibly lucky every day. All over the world, even in our own country, there are people who are suffering for one reason or another. I often times feel so helpless, when I want so much to help. Take care of yourselves and be well.
Love Caroline :D
